Daily Scribbles and thoughts, I bring the GOOD NEWS!

In the not so distant past we all wrote letters to eachother, then there was the phone ring ring ring..., and then we figured out how to FAX, sort of. Now we have email, and all the social networking sites of various types, we call this the information age! I would just like to be the place for some inspiration and good news, I love to keep in touch- please feel free to comment- back!

There were lots of photos of us, sadly we missed out on photos of the numerous art galleries, and skate shops, the people, and we started it all at PEETS COFFEE!

Still plenty of long looks at Ash's hair, and Nol was surprised to see signs outlawing skateboarding! At one point, we are at Bidwell mansion, I am walking with Ash, ( the blue hair never ceases to draw reactions) Nolan is skateboarding and holding a box of pure rock candy, I wondered do I care what people think...We are no different than everyone else, but strange looks abounded.

One day with the Uganda children, one day, reminded me just how much we really need,to see in our lives or create for ourselves simple abundance, to have enough, and when we think we need more, its ok to just appreciate in someone elses yard. That we cant possibly have enough time for all the experiences, or people we would like, but even one day is enough to make a difference.

Chico State Univ. was impressive, crafted buildings from red bricks, lush green grass, and gorgeous shrubs and flowers, it is a true contender for my kids to attend. I felt like I was home, it was so similar to Berkeley, it felt just as big, missing only the garbage and the odd smells. It was remarkably clean, and quiet. No one protesting, no one begging, but aromas of pizza and coffee lures even the most health conscious kid to the shops. Redding is only an hour away from this completely different town, and the drive is also a wonderful transisition time for relaxing and enjoyment. Fruit stands line the road, and junk, and antique stores sell goods and a spatering of yard sales can also be fun to explore.

Thanks for the time you took to look in on this, and Blessings to you today, in your day.

Liz
